Before long, Hillary, Mike and Larry come up with creative ways to make some extra cash. Dave decides to take a hands-off approach to parenting after catching Hillary in a lie. Season 2 (2006–
Meanwhile, Vicky organizes a movie night for the family, and they end up watching Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth. Finding the film very profound, Dave forces the entire family to live in an eco-friendly existence, but takes things too far. Dave is struggling with three family crisis at a time. Vicky wants more joined activities with him, but he refuses. Mike shows Dave Hillary's video blog on which she mentions all family members except Dave.
When Vicki wants new boots, she gives Dave a taste of his own medicine with cheaper beer. Kenny becomes a member of the family, while Dave fights to get into a new office after a fellow co-worker suddenly passes. After reluctantly agreeing to buy Hillary a car of her own, Dave and Vicky keep her busy running errands all the time through a car contract. When Dave agrees to take Larry and Kenny to a comic-book convention, he finds that it goes beyond just dropping them off at the event. Meanwhile, Vicky attempts to change Hillary's mind regarding spending the night at a boy's house.

When Kenny comes out of the closet, Dave encourages him to tell his parents. The kids return to school, and Dave meddles in Mike's romantic affairs to stay on good terms with the father of Mike's girlfriend. In other events, Hillary gets serious about school, and Larry overhauls his style. When it's revealed that Kenny and his date will be attending the school's Sadie Hawkins dance, he and his date are both banned from the event for not keeping with its traditions. This prompts an outraged Larry to lead protest against the discrimination, while Dave goes to the school to argue the case. Dave starts to put pressure on Hillary for her to do well on her college admissions interview by setting up mock interviews, which only makes her even more nervous.
Every time someone from management tried to eat lunch, they were rudely interrupted. I guess I was hoping to see some sexual encounters amongst series characters, at the very least. I mistook this for a look behind the scenes of BL shenanigans. Dave refuses to take a wine-appreciation course with Vicky, who fears they are in a rut; Hillary offends Dave by not mentioning him in her video blog.

When a new series is launched, all fans want is for the series to have a fascinating storyline and some good characters. The new Thailand series War of Y, which has everything fans are asking for, is presently streaming its first season. The storyline of the series is very good, and there are a lot of compelling people in it. Dave and Vicky decide to give Hillary the car she wants as long as she agrees to sign a contract so they can completely control her life.
Of their three children, the oldest is Hillary , a typical 17-year-old who frequently misbehaves, trying to get away with bad behavior behind the backs of her parents, who often regard her with suspicion. Second oldest is 16-year-old Larry , an odd misfit given to emotional outbursts . Initially Dave believes that the boys are both gay, but it is later revealed to the audience that while Larry is not gay, Kenny has a secret crush on Larry. Dave, and to a lesser extent Vicky, often treat Larry's flamboyancy with wary eyes. The youngest child, the pubescent 14-year-old Mike , must deal with issues such as masturbation, dating and underage gambling.

Vicky discovers it was Dave's pot and tells him to join Pot Smoker Anonymous, where the principal that suspended him is there.
